What is the original hub process?
At present, there are four manufacturing processes of wheel hub: casting, forging, spinning forging and high-grade carbon fiber wheel hub. The latter is too expensive to be widely used at present.

Casting is the process adopted by most original wheel hubs at present. It heats and melts the iron/aluminum alloy raw material into liquid, then pours it into a mold, and then cools and solidifies to form the wheel rim. Casting wheel hub is simple and cheap, but the disadvantage is that it needs bigger and thicker "spokes" to ensure strength, so it is heavy, which will affect the handling performance of the vehicle to some extent.

Forging rims is to press aluminum blocks with a forging press (1000 tons or 10000 tons). In the process of pressure forging, the combination between metal molecules becomes closer, so the mechanical properties are better than that of cast wheels, and the weight can be reduced more.

Spinning forging is a popular wheel hub manufacturing process in recent ten years. By forging a cylindrical aluminum block, it becomes a round aluminum cake; Then spinning is carried out, and the shape of the rim is obtained through spinning and stretching. Compared with casting, spinning forging has the advantages of high strength, good toughness and light weight. Compared with forging, spinning forging is more affordable and more acceptable to consumers.
