Jiangsu Institute of Information Technology was approved by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government in August, 2002. It was formed by the merger of the former Wuxi Radio Industry School and the former Xishan Vocational Education Center School, and was affiliated to the Education Department of Jiangsu Province. The college undertook the pilot work of the joint-stock system reform and the new operating mechanism reform of the provincial education department, and achieved remarkable results. The chairman of the College is Director Wang Bintai of the Provincial Education Department, and the vice chairman is Deputy Director Ji. The college implements the dean responsibility system under the leadership of the board of directors.

The college now has five departments and two departments, including electronic information engineering, with 25 majors and 40 professional directions, with distinctive school-running characteristics and complete varieties and professional categories. On June 5438+February 2003, the College was approved by the Ministry of Education as one of the first batch of 35 demonstration software vocational and technical colleges in China, and the software technology specialty was selected as the characteristic specialty of higher education in Jiangsu Province. The successful cooperation with six German international school of economics and management majors has been highly valued and praised by the Provincial Department of Education.

The College adheres to the guiding ideology of "employment-oriented, information technology as the feature, ability training as the main line, and social satisfaction as the core, and cultivates high-skilled talents with socialist concept of honor and disgrace," knowing majors, fine skills and high quality ",and cultivates high-quality skilled professionals who face the front line of production, construction, service and management every year. The college trains talents for enterprise orders, and dozens of enterprises, such as Wuxi Guo Sheng Mould Company, the top three in China, have set up professional title classes in our college. More than 30,000 graduates have been trained, including Minister Wang Xudong of the Ministry of Information Industry, former Deputy Secretary of Wuxi Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, Miao Genbao, Chairman of CPPCC, and Professor Qin Ming of Southeast University.

At present, the college has 9599 full-time students and more than 800 full-time and part-time teachers. With the strong support of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and Wuxi Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, the College is making every effort to build a new campus with an area of more than 960 mu, a scale of10.2 million people and a total construction area of 340,000 square meters in Outang Vocational Education Park.
