During the reign of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty, there was an upright official who was famous in the government and the public. He was punched by Zhang. Zhang Boxing was born in the eighth year of Shunzhi in Qing Dynasty, namely 165 1 year, from Yifeng, Henan Province, which is now lankao county. Perhaps it was a historical coincidence that Jiao Youlu later became the county party secretary here. Zhang Boxing's name was filial piety, and he was renamed Jing 'an in his later years.
Zhang Boxing was smart and studious since childhood, influenced by his father and grandfather, and his moral character was also very high. Thirteen years old, read through four books and five classics. In the twentieth year of Kangxi, that is, A.D. 168 1 year, Zhang Boxing was awarded the entrance examination. Four years later, he won a scholarship in the imperial examination. In the thirty-first year of Kangxi, that is, AD 1692, he was awarded a supplementary book and entered the official career.
Although Zhang Boxing was a late official, he was always loyal to his duties and thrifty, so he became famous all over the world, not just for Emperor Kangxi.
He has been commended and promoted many times, and the people also praised him as "the first honest official in the world." In the forty-second year of Kangxi, Zhang Boxing was appointed as Jining Road, Shandong Province. At that time, there was a famine and the people were displaced. He asked people to bring food from home to help the victims, and donated several boats of money and silk to distribute to the people. Immediately after his arrival, he opened a warehouse to help the people tide over the difficulties. To this end, he was accused of tampering with Cang Gu and should be removed from his post. Zhang Boxing believed that "Cang Gu is light and human life is heavy", and argued for it, and finally he was exempted from the punishment of his boss. Being an official for the people is the principle that Zhang Boxing always adheres to.
In the forty-fifth year of Kangxi, Zhang Boxing was promoted to Jiangsu provincial judge and subordinate to the governor. According to the practice of the old officials at that time, the new officials should give gifts to the governor, the governor and other big bosses to show their respect, and said that they would need about four thousand two hundred pieces of silver to be taken care of and promoted in the future. However, Zhang Boxing, who is honest and frank by nature, never fawns on his boss and hates this corrupt atmosphere. He said: "I am an official, and I will never take people's money. I can do this! " Refuse to give gifts. Moreover, during his tenure, he tried his best to get rid of local ills and rectify official management, thus offending the governor and governor, who often rejected him.
In the first month of the following year, Emperor Kangxi made a southern tour of Jiangsu and ordered the governor to recommend talented officials. Emperor Kangxi didn't see Zhang Boxing, who was well-known in the ruling and opposition parties, on the recommendation list, so he reprimanded the governor and the governor: "I heard that Zhang Boxing is a rare pillar of the country, because he is an honest official, but you don't recommend it!" Then he turned to Zhang Quan: "I know you very well. They don't recommend you. I recommend you.
