1858, Kang Youwei was born in a bureaucratic landlord family. Father died at the age of 1 1. After that, I studied with my grandfather and was deeply influenced by Zhu Cheng's Neo-Confucianism. He was well-read since he was a child, witty and eager to learn, and won the love of his fellow villagers. They all call him Kang Shengren.
Morning 1895. The Qing government sent Li Hongzhang to sign the treaty of shimonoseki with Japan. In May, Kang Youwei, Liang Qichao and others called 1300 juren to write a joint letter, highlighting the current situation and putting forward the idea that "political reform becomes the rule of the world". Insist on rejecting peace, moving the capital, training troops, reforming the law, asking the emperor to set up factories, build railways, and abolish stereotyped writing examinations. This is the famous "words on the bus".
On the second day of "writing letters", we will try to expose the list. Kang Youwei is a scholar. He taught in the Ministry of Industry, but he didn't arrive at his post. Instead, he took the opportunity to write a third letter to the emperor, once again expounding the necessity, specific steps and methods of political reform. This letter finally reached the hands of Emperor Guangxu, who praised it after reading it. Later, Kang Youwei wrote the "fourth book" and formally put forward the idea of "setting up a government and communicating with the lower level", demanding rapid political reform.
During the period of 1897, the German occupied Jiaozhou Bay in China, and the national crisis became increasingly serious. Kang Youwei wrote to Emperor Guangxu for the fifth time, namely the famous Master Plan of Ying Zhao. The young emperor Guangxu finally decided to reform and survive. 1898, 1 1 In June, Emperor Guangxu issued a letter to reform, and Kang Youwei relied heavily on it. While the reform movement was gradually deepening, it was strongly obstructed by conservatives headed by Empress Dowager Cixi. Soon, the reform failed in a pool of blood. The reform lasted only 103 days from the beginning to the failure. Therefore, history is called "Hundred Days Reform".
After the failure of political reform, Kang Youwei spent 16 years in exile overseas. 1900, Kang Youwei actively prepared for military pay and purchased ordnance, helping Tang to form a "self-defense force" and prepare for the uprising.
Yu Nan Kang Youwei's thought failed to conform to the historical trend and keep pace with the times, which led to the absurdity of protecting the king and restoring it. He also organized royalist societies overseas to argue with bourgeois revolutionaries led by Sun Yat-sen. 19 17, and Kang Youwei came to Beijing. He directly participated in the ugly drama supporting "zhang xun restoration" and wrote the biggest failure in his life.
