Shenmao Railway is divided into main line and branch line, in which the branch line passes through Foshan and the two lines run in parallel. Jiangmen-Maoming section (paying equal attention to passengers and goods), the main line starts from Xinhui Station in Jiangmen City and ends at Maoming East Station, with a total length of 265.539 kilometers;

The section from Shenzhen to Jiangmen (mainly used for passenger transport) is under construction, and it is expected to shorten the distance between Shenzhen-Maoming line and Dongguan, Guangzhou after the Shenzhen-Shantou passage is confirmed. Shenzhen-Guangzhou section (Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway has been built), Guangfo section and Foshan-Jiangmen section (long-term planning); Jiangmen-Maoming section is shared by trunk lines and branch lines.
