Why is the word "Lie" missing in Nanyue Martyrs' Shrine?
Less martyrs, faster victory.

Xiangtang Temple, the most important building in the Martyrs' Temple, is located at the end of the stone steps, with cornices and tiles on the stone wall, which is magnificent. On the main entrance is the plaque of "Martyrs' Temple" inscribed by Chiang Kai-shek, in which the word "Lie" is a little less.

According to reports, the Martyrs Temple was built in 1939. During the "First South Vietnam Military Conference", many generals mentioned that the fallen soldiers were "the battlefield of sudden corpse" and could not be buried. The speaker is sad and the listener is astringent. Chiang Kai-shek was very sad about this and asked Chen Cheng and Bi Yue to major in the Martyrs' Temple. During this period, the war was fierce and the construction work was intermittent. By the time/KLOC-0 was completed in June, 1943, countless national heroes had died in China, including 35 senior generals above Major General. As the supreme commander of the Anti-Japanese War, considering this situation, Chiang Kai-shek specially wrote a plaque with less words "fierce" to show that "there are fewer martyrs and victory is quick".

As the old saying goes, "When times are bad, heroes emerge in times of crisis". When heroes come forth in large numbers, it is also a time when people are in dire straits. The early end of the Anti-Japanese War, the disarming of soldiers and the turning of swords into plowshares should be the aspiration of 400 million people that day!

Introduced the background at that time, hoping to help you.
