Zhang Zhongjing (about 150 ~ 154—— about 2 15 ~ 2 19) was born in Nieyang County, Nanyang (now Zhangzhai Village, Gedong Town, dengzhou city City, Henan Province). The famous doctor at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty was honored as a "medical sage" by later generations.

In addition, Zhang Zhongjing was praised by later generations as "the ancient doctor", "the originator of magic" and "the sage of medicine". Zhang Zhongjing's greatest contribution lies in the establishment of a syndrome differentiation and treatment system for clinical diagnosis and treatment of traditional Chinese medicine. He treated typhoid fever with six meridians, miscellaneous diseases with zang-fu organs, three kinds of causes, eight kinds of syndrome differentiation, eight kinds of rule of law, treatment of syndrome by pulse, and management of French prescriptions, which set an example for future generations.

In addition to Treatise on Febrile Diseases, Zhang Zhongjing's works include ten volumes of Treatise on Febrile Diseases Based on Syndrome Differentiation, one volume of Prescriptions for Treating Diseases, two volumes of Prescriptions for Treating Women, one volume of Treatise on Five Zangs and one volume of Arthrology. Unfortunately, it has been lost for a long time. However, the outstanding contribution of Treatise on Febrile Diseases is enough to make Zhang Zhongjing a world medical great man admired at home and abroad.
