Brief introduction of Oujiang Beikou Bridge

It is located at Oujiangkou, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, starting from Huanghua in Yueqing and ending at Hannah Quinlivan Island, with a total length of 7.913km. The double track of Shangping-Yongtaiwen Expressway is an important part of the national highway G 15w3, with a design speed of100km, a bridge deck width of 33m and six lanes in both directions. Xiananjin Highway is an important part of newly-built G228 National Highway in Zhejiang Province, with a design speed of 80km/h, a bridge deck width of 34.3m and six lanes in both directions.

Zhang Haiting, project manager of Oujiang Beikou Bridge of China Railway Bridge Bureau, introduced that Oujiang Beikou Bridge is large in scale, complex in technology and novel and unique in structure, which has set three world records, namely, "the world's first three-tower, four-span double-deck steel truss suspension bridge", "the world's first multi-tower span large rigid concrete middle tower" and "the world's first super-large open caisson in deep soft soil at a strong tidal estuary affected by typhoon". "This is one of the most technically difficult and complicated bridges in China and even in the world, which provides construction experience for the construction of cross-sea passages in the future." Zhang Haiting said.
