Introduction of Yangshuo West Street in Guilin
West Street is the most historic street in Yangshuo. West Street was founded on 1674. It faces the Lijiang River in the east, Dongling in the west and Lian Bi Peak in the west. It is paved with betel nut marbles produced locally in Guilin. It is dark and shiny here, surrounded by low brick houses left over from the Qing Dynasty, with white walls and red windows, revealing the simplicity and elegance of Lingnan architecture. The early West Street was not as long as it is now. Its name comes from its geographical location. After the stone wall was built in Yangshuo County from Yuan Dynasty to Zhengnian, the street in front of the county government was taken as the front street, which was connected with a horizontal street from east to west, and the next section from Bilianfeng to south was an alley, and the eastern section was connected with the Lijiang River wall, which was connected with the South Street. Later, this area was called Cross Street, and the longest section to West Street was called West Street.
