Congtai district is located in the south of Hebei Province, east of the north of Handan City, with a total area of about 192.33 square kilometers, covering 10 streets, 1 town and 4 townships.

Congtai district is the commercial, economic, political and cultural center of Handan. The Municipal Procuratorate, the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress and the Municipal Public Security Bureau are all located in congtai district, and Handan's large-scale commercial centers are also concentrated here, such as wanda plaza, Kant Shopping Mall, New World Commercial Plaza and Sunshine Tian Hong Plaza. Therefore, congtai district can be regarded as a relatively developed area in Handan.

Architectural evolution

Congtai district has a long history. During the Shang Dynasty, the areas under its jurisdiction were Yin, Shang and Gyeonggi. In the Spring and Autumn Period, it belonged to Wei and then to Jin. In the 29th year of Zhou (49 1), Zhao Yang () captured Handan. Congtai district is now the hereditary leader of Zhao Yang.

In the 16th year of Zhou 'an (386 BC), the capital of Zhao moved from Zhongmou to Handan, and now congtai district is located in the north of Dabei City of Zhao. In the 19th year of the King of Qin (the first 228 years), Zhao was destroyed by the State of Qin. In the first year of Qin Shihuang (22 1), Qin unified the six countries and implemented the county system. Today, congtai district is under the jurisdiction of Handan County.
