Brief introduction of Pang Tong
Pang Tong (179-2 14) was born in Xiangyang, Jingzhou (now Xiangyang, Hubei) in the Han Dynasty.

Pang Tong was simple when he was a child, but he didn't look smart on the surface. When Si Mahui was personable and knowledgeable, Pang Tong visited him when he was twenty years old.

Si Mahui was sitting on a mulberry tree picking mulberry leaves, while Pang Tong was sitting under the tree. These two people talk to each other from morning till night. Si Mahui was surprised at Pang Tong and said that no one could compare with Pang Tong. With Si Mahui's words, Pang Tong gradually became known.

Pang Degong in Xiangyang called Pang Tong "Feng Chu", Zhuge Liang as Wolong and Sima Caode as water mirror.

Xu Shu once said to Liu Bei, Wolong Feng Chu can be safe! Pang Tong used Lu Ji and Gu Shao to evaluate these characters, claiming that he had the ability to assist the emperor.

In the 14th year of Jian 'an (209), Zhou Yu fought for a position in Nanjun, and after defeating Coss, he occupied Nanjun as the prefect. Pang Tong served as a gongcao under the prefect of Zhou Yunan. After Zhou Yu's death, Pang Tong went to Jiangdong to pay his respects and met the famous Lu Ji, Gu Shao and Quan Cong. Pang Tong thinks Quan Cong: "You are good at giving, a bit like Fan Zhaozi in Runan.

Although there is not much information, it is still a story for some time. "He also thinks:" Landmarks have the foot strength of a packhorse, but Gu has little ability to carry cattle for a long distance. "Someone asked," as you can see, Lou? Better? " Pang Tong explained, "Although a pack horse is very powerful, it can only carry one person. But carrying Niu Yi can walk 300 miles a day, and there is more than one person! "

So Gu Shao entertained Pang Tong to stay overnight and asked, "You have evaluated so many celebrities. What about me and you?" Pang Tong said: "I am not as good as Qing in cultivating secular and comprehensive characters;" On the secret strategy of the emperor, the most important thing is to rely on it. I seem to have the length of a day. (Educate the world, recommend people, I am not as good as you; But as for the emperor's secret strategy, the essence of holding, leaning and squatting, I prefer it. )"

Everyone was very satisfied with Pang Tong's comments, and even became friends with him, saying, "The world is peaceful, and I will definitely talk to you about the world."

After Liu Bei took charge of Jingzhou, he took Pang Tong as the Leiyang Order. However, he failed to do a good job during his term of office and was removed from office. Lu Su wrote to Liu Bei to introduce Pang Tong, and said, "Pang Shiyuan is not the person who manages the land of a hundred miles. He just showed his outstanding talent by appointing him to the position of governing China, not driving. " Zhuge Liang also recommended that Liu Bei reuse him and engage in Ren Zhizhong. His treatment was similar to Zhuge Liang's, and he was later promoted to be a military commander.

Chapter 57 of the historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms describes Pang Tong as the magistrate of Leiyang County. During Zhang Fei's surveillance, Pang Tong handled all the official duties accumulated in 100 days. The blueprint of this incident is what happened in another book of Chen Shou, Yi Bu Zhuan, which was quoted by Pei in the Biography of the Three Kingdoms and Shu Zhuan.

Later, he followed Liu Bei into Sichuan and Shu, and put forward a plan to directly kill Liu Zhang and conquer Sichuan and Shu, which was rejected by Liu Bei. Later, Liu Bei and Liu Zhang broke up, and Pang Tong put forward three strategies to take Shu:

The best policy: "Immediately and secretly select elite soldiers and powerful generals, and make a surprise attack on the capital Chengdu day and night; Liu Zhang doesn't understand military affairs, and he is not prepared at ordinary times. When the army comes suddenly, it can be decided at one stroke. This is the best policy. "

Zhongce: "Baishuiguan is the throat leading to Chengdu and the only way back to Jingzhou. This pass is guarded by Yang Huai and Gao Pei. Yang Huai and Gao Pei are Liu Zhang's famous men, each guarding Qiang Bing and Guangu. It is said that they have written to Liu Zhang several times, hoping to return the general to Jingzhou.

General, you can send someone to meet them, saying that Jingzhou is in a hurry and needs to return to the army for assistance, pretending to pack up and go out to Sichuan; These two people are loyal to your reputation and are happy for your departure. I guess they must have come to see you by Qingqi, so that you can capture them alive, seize their soldiers and attack Chengdu. This is China's strategy. "

Trick: "Stop taking Shu for the time being, return it to Baidicheng immediately, join forces with Jingzhou Army, forge ahead again and gradually destroy Liu Zhang. This is the bottom plan. "

I even think: "If we don't take action, the army will soon be in trouble and can't wait any longer." Liu Bei thought that the best policy was too hasty and the worst policy was too slow, so he took the middle policy. First cut Yang Huai and Gao Pei, seize Baishui Pass, ensure the smooth road back to Jingzhou, then enter Fucheng, and then attack Chengdu, which is invincible.

When the army passed through Fucheng, Liu Bei gave a big banquet to everyone, drinking and having fun, and said to Pang Tong, "Today's banquet is really an honor." However, Pang Tong scolded: "It is not the art of war for a benevolent person to attack other people's land and still drink and have fun." Breaking Liu Bei's ambition, Liu Bei, who was drunk at that time, said angrily: "During the Zhou Dynasty, Wu Wang Yin Ke was good at singing and dancing. Isn't he a kind man? You are not serious, leave quickly! " So Pang Tong left and retired.

Later, Liu Bei felt remorse and asked Pang Tong to return his seat. Pang Tong returned to his seat. However, Pang Tong did not thank Liu Bei for inviting him back, but was eating with a smile. Liu Bei asked him, "Who did you say it was?" Pang Tong replied, "It's all wrong." Liu Bei laughed and continued to feast.

When Liu Bei attacked Luocheng, Pang Tong led an army to attack the city and was shot by the defenders. He is only 36 years old. Liu Bei beat his chest and wept bitterly for it, and Zhuge Liang personally went to worship and even promoted his father to an admonition officer. Later, he was made a Hou in the pass, and was made a Hou in September 260.
