A: Philosophy didn't prepare me for the construction industry at all. But it does force me to be more philosophical about my future. For two years, I have been thinking about what to do. One weekend, I went to Chicago and was completely fascinated by the gorgeous buildings around me.

I went home and applied to architecture schools all over the country, and was admitted to one of the best schools. I never looked back … this is definitely my destiny.
