The True History of Jigong Living Buddha
Jigong is a real figure in history. He was born in Shaoxing in the 18th year of Southern Song Dynasty (A.D. 1 148) and died in Jiading in the 2nd year (A.D. 1209). His original name was Li Xiuyuan.

Dao Ji, a native of Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, was the great-grandson of Li Wenhe, a captain in Tiantai Linhai at that time. Because he was brilliant all his life, he was charitable and well aware of the sufferings of the people, and he was punished as rich and heartless.

The place where he became a monk was Lingyin Temple. In his life's behavior, he was rendered very strange by the Han people. In fact, Jigong is a famous monk, frank and talented. His master is Hui Yuan, a famous blind monk.

Jigong's Buddhist attainments are quite high, but his life behavior is really different from that of ordinary monks. Jigong lives a happy and elegant life and likes to travel around the world, covering Zhejiang, Anhui, Sichuan and other places. He is often disheveled and likes to drink and eat meat.

He seems crazy, but he is really a learned monk who does good deeds and accumulates virtue. His story is well known. He likes to fight injustice, save lives, help the poor, eliminate violence and punish evil.

However, it is definitely not as magical as in TV series.
