Zhang Zhixiu from Yongxin County, Jiangxi Province. /kloc-joined the Chinese communist youth league in 0/930. 1933 Joined the Chinese Red Army of Workers and Peasants. 1934, the regiment was transferred to China. During the Agrarian Revolutionary War, he served as the deputy company commander of the 49th Regiment of the 17th Division, the company commander of the 53rd Regiment of the 18th Division and the battalion commander of the 46th Regiment of the 16th Division. Participated in the Long March. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, he served as the squadron leader, reconnaissance staff officer, battalion commander and chief of staff of the second regiment of the first detachment of the New Fourth Army, deputy chief of staff and head of the new regiment of the first detachment of the New Fourth Army, head of the 56th regiment of the seventh division of the New Fourth Army, chief of staff of Hanhe detachment of the Wanjiang Military Region, and chief of staff of the 19th brigade of the seventh division of the New Fourth Army. During the War of Liberation, he served as the chief of staff and deputy commander of the 19th Division of the 7th column of the East China Field Army, the 26th Division of the 9th column of the 3rd Field Army and the 80th Division of the 27th Army. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), he participated in the 1950 War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, served as the deputy commander of the 26th Army of Chinese people's Volunteer Army, and participated in the 1 5th campaign. 1952 After returning to China, he served as the commander of the 26th Army, the deputy commander of jinan military area command, and the deputy commander and commander of the Kunming Military Region. 1955, he was awarded the rank of major general. He was awarded the Second Class August 1st Medal, the Second Class Medal of Independence and Freedom and the First Class Medal of Liberation. He is a member of the 11th and 12th Central Committee of China. 1985 and 1987, he was elected as a member of the Central Advisory Committee at the National Congress of China and retired in July 1998. He died of illness on the morning of August 14, 2009.
