Brief introduction of chairman of autonomous region
Article 56 of the Organic Law stipulates that the people's governments of provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, autonomous prefectures and cities divided into districts are respectively composed of governors, vice-governors, chairmen, vice-chairmen, mayors, deputy mayors, governors, deputy governors, secretaries-general, directors and committee directors.

Article 17 of the Law on Regional National Autonomy stipulates that the chairman of an autonomous region, the governor of an autonomous prefecture and the county head of an autonomous county shall be citizens of the ethnic group exercising regional autonomy. Other members of the people's governments of autonomous regions, autonomous prefectures and autonomous counties shall be reasonably staffed with people from ethnic groups and other ethnic minorities who exercise regional autonomy.

The people's governments of ethnic autonomous areas implement the responsibility system of the chairman of the autonomous region, the governor of the autonomous prefecture and the county magistrate. The chairman of the autonomous region, the governor of the autonomous prefecture and the county magistrate shall preside over the work of the people's government at the corresponding level respectively.

The chairman of the autonomous region is fully responsible for the leadership of the people's government of the autonomous region, the executive vice-chairman presides over the daily work, and other vice-chairmen are in charge of different provincial government departments and work.
