How did the emperor shunzhi die? There have been different opinions for a long time. There are two common sayings, one is becoming a monk, and the other is dying of smallpox. Shunzhi's worship of Buddhism has a long history. /kloc-when he was 0/4 years old, he became attached to a monk because of a hunting accident, and since then he has formed a deep marriage with Buddhism. After Princess Dong died of illness, Shunzhi was heartbroken.
So Shunzhi's sudden death is probably an excuse. The truth is that he cut his hair and became a monk and fled into an empty door. However, various historical data show that Shunzhi died of smallpox, and his illness should be a normal death, but the official archives of the Qing Dynasty made no mention of it. Is there any hidden secret behind Shunzhi's death?
In 2004, a news that shocked historians appeared. According to Xiamen Evening News, the emperor shunzhi was killed by Zheng Chenggong in Xiamen. This report in Xiamen Evening News quoted a folk-circulated Record of the Uprising of King Yanping, which was written by Zheng Shucheng, a descendant of Zheng Chenggong, in 19 12 according to the secret script handed down by his ancestors, and recorded that the emperor shunzhi was killed by Zheng Chenggong in Xiamen.
Shunzhi was killed by Zheng Chenggong for a reason, starting with Zheng Chenggong's northern expedition to Nanjing. In the fifteenth year of Shunzhi (1658), the main force of the Qing army assembled in Yungui Dynasty to encircle the Li Yong regime in Nanming, and the defense in the southeast was relatively empty. Therefore, Zheng Chenggong took advantage of this golden opportunity to attack Nanjing with all his strength. Coupled with the Northern Expedition, the fleet encountered a typhoon, and Zheng Jun suffered heavy losses.
In May of the 16th year of Shunzhi, Zheng Chenggong led the army north again. This time it went well, like a bamboo road. Unfortunately, after the occupation of Zhenjiang, due to the passive March, the opportunity to capture Nanjing was finally lost. The result of the failure of the Northern Expedition was painful, and Zheng Chenggong could only stick to Xiamen-Tianjin by virtue of his naval superiority.
The Qing army held Nanjing, but Zheng Chenggong's forces remained a great threat to the Qing Dynasty. After many failed surrenders, the emperor shunzhi became angry from embarrassment and prepared to use personal expedition. /kloc-at the end of 0/659, Zheng Chenggong received a tip-off that the Qing army led by Qing general Dasu was not far from Fuzhou. There is a saying in the Record of King Yanping's Uprising, "Someone secretly told the Lord that during the Battle of Gaoqi, the puppet army Shunzhi really thought that Xiamen Port had been shelled."
In addition, a record of King Yanping's uprising also records that after the Qing Dynasty, Zheng Zhilong repeatedly wrote letters to persuade his son to surrender, but all failed, but the emperor shunzhi did not convict him. But after the emperor shunzhi's death, Assistant Minister Suksaha suggested to Kangxi that Zheng Zhilong should be killed to avenge the late emperor. If the emperor shunzhi was indeed killed by Zheng Chenggong, it is understandable that the official records of his death in Qing Dynasty are short.
