Chinese suicide intervention institutions
At the end of 2002, huilongguan hospital Psychological Crisis Research and Intervention Center was established, with Fei as the executive director. In 2003, the center opened the first suicide intervention hotline in China. Since then, suicide intervention hotlines have been set up in some areas, and at present, there are 15 such hotlines in China.

Zhang Chun, director of Nanjing Psychological Crisis Intervention Volunteer Assistance Center, said that he had never heard of suicide intervention institutions for rural areas. Like the above 15 hotline, it is mainly concentrated in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. General psychological consultation telephone, psychological consultation website service, face-to-face psychological support consultation service and other psychological and social service institutions are mostly concentrated in cities, which are difficult to reach in rural areas.

Xia Xueluan, a professor of sociology in Peking University, appealed that the intervention of psychological crisis in rural areas should not be blank, and the government should invest resources to establish relevant institutions. A scholar who asked not to be named also said that China's mental health resources are already limited, so it is impossible to tilt to the countryside according to market rules. Therefore, rural areas can only be guaranteed by the state, and mental health should be managed in the financial system.
