From the beginning of the novel, Lu's lucky life has been staged continuously. First of all, as an important official of the imperial court, Lu killed the butcher in public, which was a capital crime in any dynasty. Even if he can avoid a little death, he will be sent to the border. However, Lu did not suffer any crime because of this life-threatening lawsuit. He was recommended by Jin Cuilian to become a monk in Wutai Mountain. In the Song Dynasty, anyone who made up his mind to become a monk could be exempted from all sins before him. Therefore, Lu was not punished for killing people in the street.
Later, he became a monk in Wutai Mountain. He repeatedly violated the temple regulations and openly went down the mountain to drink and eat meat. After getting drunk, he made a scene in Wutai Mountain and broke the statue of Lohan. Even so, however, he didn't get any punishment for his mistakes. Master Zhizhen, the host of Wutai Mountain, likes Lu very much and thinks that Lu is very similar to his young personality, so he has repeatedly put up with Lu's mistakes.
Later, on the recommendation of Master Zhizhen, Lu went to Suoguo Temple in Tokyo, where he watched the vegetable garden and cultivated land. During this period, he met a large group of local ruffians and his lifelong friend Lin Chong. Later, Lin Chong, who was sent to the frontier, was rescued in the wild pig forest, and Gao Taiwei, who wanted to harm him, was offended. Later, thanks to the reminders of a few ruffian scoundrels, I didn't do it, set fire to the vegetable garden, and now I'm still wandering in the Jianghu.
From the experience in the first half of Water Margin, we can see that Lu is really very lucky. This person has been making mistakes since he appeared, and it is a serious mistake, but whenever he makes mistakes, someone will always tolerate him and accept him so that he will not take any responsibility for his mistakes. After wandering the rivers and lakes, Lu didn't suffer anything in the rivers and lakes. He soon became an outlaw in Erlong Mountain and eventually merged into Liangshan, becoming the first of the top ten infantry leaders in Liangshan.
