Liu (1852- 1895), born in Fujian (now Fuzhou), is a Han nationality. Navy general in late Qing Dynasty. Graduated from Fujian Ship Administration School. 1875, he was sent to Britain to learn skills such as guns and mines. After returning home, recommended by Li Hongzhang, he was promoted to guerrilla warfare, organized Beiyang Caotang, and helped to formulate the naval military system and camp regulations. 1882 went to Germany to buy a ship and served as the right-wing commander of Beiyang navy. From the Sino-Japanese War 1894, Ding was injured in the battle of the Yellow Sea. He directed the war instead of the director. At about three o'clock in the fierce battle, I hit the enemy ship many times. The following year, he fought bravely against the enemy in the naval battle in Ahava and died heroically.
