There is no fire department in China, only the Armed Police Fire Brigade (also called the Public Security Fire Brigade), which belongs to the Chinese People's Armed Police Force and is led by the Fire Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security. All provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions have fire brigades. Therefore, there is no post of fire minister in China. The Fire Department of the Ministry of Public Security has a director, and the fire brigades of all provinces, municipalities directly under the Central Government and autonomous regions have captains. The current director of the Fire Department of the Ministry of Public Security is Guo Tienan, and the current political commissar is Chen Jiaqiang.
