Legal consequences of false resume
The legal consequence of resume fraud is to pay liquidated damages and compensate for economic losses. It is illegal to falsify resumes, and it is fraudulent for workers to conclude labor contracts with employers by virtue of false academic qualifications and false work experience. According to the relevant provisions of the Labor Contract Law and the Regulations on the Implementation of the Labor Contract Law, the employer has the right to terminate the labor contract and demand the laborer to pay liquidated damages and compensate for economic losses. Workers who buy, sell or use fake stamps or certificates in the process of falsifying their resumes can be detained for up to 10 according to the Law on Public Security Administration Punishment, and can also be fined up to 500 yuan. If the circumstances are bad, it constitutes a criminal offence.
