Han Yu (768-824, aged 56, from Dali, Tang Daizong for three years to Changqing, Mu Zong for four years), was born in Heyang, Henan (now mengzhou city, Henan). His ancestral home was Wang Changli County (now Changli County, Hebei Province), and he called himself Mr. Changli. In his later years, he served as assistant minister of the official department, also known as the Korean official department. The death of the deceased was named Han Wengong. Literati in the Tang Dynasty and Liu Zongyuan advocated "the movement of ancient Chinese prose in the Middle Tang Dynasty", collectively known as "Liu Han". Su Shi praised him for "eight generations of literary decline, lost discipline in the world, loyal to prisoners and angry than the three armed forces handsome" (eight generations: Eastern Han Dynasty, Wei and Jin Dynasties, Song Dynasty, Qi Dynasty, Liang Dynasty, Chen Dynasty, Sui Dynasty). Prose and poetry are both famous. His works include Collected Works of Mr. Changli.
He, Liu Zongyuan, Su Shi, Su Zhe, Su Xun, Ceng Gong, Ouyang Xiu and Wang Anshi are also known as the eight masters of Tang and Song Dynasties. Han Yu (768-824) was a scholar in the eighth year of Zhenyuan (792). When I was in Tang Xianzong, I worked with Pei Du to quell the rebellion in Huaixi buffer region. When he was assistant minister of punishments, he was demoted to Chaozhou secretariat, which angered Xianzong. Later, when he was in Muzong, he was called into imperial academy to offer a drink offering, and served as an assistant minister of the Ministry of War and an official minister.
