Was there such a good man as Huang Hailong in the Song Dynasty?
General Huang Hailong (1112-1), the eldest son of Huang Jingsheng, a senior minister in the Northern Song Dynasty, was the seventh scholar of Yimaoke in the fifth year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1 135). When he was there, his brother suggested to the capitulators to cede territory and make peace with the Jin people, and advocated resisting the Jin State. He was framed as a rapist and demoted to a captain in Guangdong. After entering Guangdong, regardless of personal gains and losses, he led the troops to crack down on thieves on Guangdong East Road. Because of his resourcefulness and good use of troops, the war on Guangdong East Road soon subsided. After leading troops to Zhou Xun (now Longchuan County), they were deeply loved by the people in order to heal the wounds of war, build water conservancy, reclaim farmland and promote learning and education. In recognition of his outstanding achievements and noble moral character, Emperor Xiaozong inscribed a gold plaque to praise the "Festival of Loyalty and Filial Piety" and restored his official position. In the fifteenth year of Song Dynasty (1 188), he retired to his hometown and settled in Zhonglian Village, Zijin County. Then, his grandson asked Emperor Song Lizong to allow him to build a shrine in Zhonglian. General Huang Hailong has five sons and fifteen grandchildren. His eldest son, Huang Huan, was a scholar of Ding Chouke in Shaoxing in the Song Dynasty 17, and Gong Ju joined the army in the Ministry of War. Huang Heng, the second son, was appointed assistant minister of foreign riding, Huang Li, the third son, was appointed as doctor Guanglu, Huang Qinggui, the fourth son, was appointed as special envoy of Fujian and Taiwan government, and Huang Qingen, the fifth son, was appointed as traditional Chinese medicine. Most of the grandchildren are "heroes" and military commanders. The famous ones are Huang Ze, who was awarded the title of general of Zhenjun to guard the Qinling Mountains (from the second grade), and so on. His descendants are all over Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Sichuan and other places. General Huang Hailong was an official for five generations until his great-grandson was not an official of the Yuan Dynasty, and there were 23 senior officials (only 16 Jinshi). Among them, "three generations of generals" and "four generations of anti-gold heroes" are even more legendary by future generations. As a great soldier, Huang Hailong contributed his whole life to resist foreign invasion and quell the war, and fought in the north and south. After entering Zhou Xun, Guangdong Province, Huang Hailong led local farmers to reclaim land and actively promoted the development of mountainous areas, which was deeply loved by the people and passed down from generation to generation.
