Fan Ceng: A native of Nantong, Jiangsu Province, 1938 was born in a scholarly family. He studied history, literature and painting since childhood, and 1959 was admitted to the history department of Nankai University in Tianjin. Two years later, he transferred to the Central Academy of Fine Arts to study art history, and then transferred to the Department of Traditional Chinese Painting. He had studied under Wu Zuoren, Li Keran, Jiang,,, and other famous teachers, and achieved great accomplishments.
