Chen Gang is the head of the special paper research team of South China University of Technology. The main research direction is papermaking technology and specialty paper. He has served as executive deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Pulp and Paper Making of South China University of Technology, member of the teaching steering committee of light industrial food discipline in universities, vice chairman of Guangdong Sustainable Development Association and director of the professional committee of industrial sustainable development, executive director of Guangdong Papermaking Society, deputy director of the professional committee of coated and processed paper of China Papermaking Society, and editorial board of Journal of Applied Basic and Engineering Science, China Papermaking and China Papermaking Science and Technology Journal. He has won the titles of rookie in Nanyue teaching field, outstanding teacher in Nanyue and May 4th Youth Medal in Guangdong Province. He was selected into the New Century Excellent Talents Support Program of the Ministry of Education, listed as the provincial training object of the "Thousand Hundred and Ten Projects" in provincial universities, and the chief professor of the national teaching team.
