Her husband is george akerlof, winner of the 200 1 Nobel Prize in Economics, and a professor at the University of California, Berkeley.
Janet yellen graduated from Brown University (Bachelor of Economics) and Yale University (Doctor of Economics). He taught at Harvard University and the London School of Economics in his early years, and later served as a professor at Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, and served as the chairman of the 18 th US President's Council of Economic Advisers (nominated by former US President Bill Clinton). She was awarded the Outstanding Teaching Award twice by Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

1997, yellen was awarded the Wilbur cross of Yale university, 1998, an honorary doctorate in law from brown university, and an honorary doctorate in humanistic literature from bard college in 2000. From 65438 to 0980, Yellen worked in Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. She is now an honorary professor of the school and has won the excellent teaching award of the school twice.
As an academician of the American College of Arts and Sciences, Yellen served as the vice president of the American Western Economic Association, the vice president of the American Economic Association, and a member of the board of directors of Yale University.
Yellen has many research works on macroeconomics, mainly focusing on the causes, mechanisms and effects of unemployment. He is the author of Unemployment and Labor Market, Monetary and Fiscal Policy and International Trade and Investment Policy.
