During the Hongwu period in the early Ming Dynasty, the ancestors of the Kang family settled in the Luohe River in Kangdian Town (now Gongyi), Gongxian County. In order to solve the problem of food and clothing, the ancestors of the Kang family opened a small restaurant on the bank of the Luohe River. When cold comes and summer goes, xiaodian has gradually become a well-known inn in Heluo area. Later, the location of this inn was called "Konka Store".
During the period of Kang Shaojing, the sixth generation descendant of Kang Jiazu, Kang Shaojing studied as an official. At first, he was an official in Weichuan (now Weishi County, Henan Province), and later he was promoted to Dongchangfu (now Liaocheng, Shandong Province). Kang Shaojing holds important positions in local water and land transportation, salt industry, taxation and other departments. In the Qing Dynasty, when the Qing court suppressed Christianity, the Kang family obtained a ten-year military order related to cloth through various means. Prior to this, the Kang family monopolized the cloth market in Shaanxi. At the same time, the Kang family became rich by shipbuilding and land, and was called a "millionaire". After several generations of Kangjiaren's continuous efforts, the small "Kangjiadian" has become a huge manor with an area of more than 240 mu and 19 pieces. Building caves by the mountain, buildings by the street and docks by the river, integrating agriculture, politics and commerce, has 33 courtyards, 53 buildings, 73 caves and 1300 houses. Siheyuan is a typical two-way quadrangle in western Henan, which has the characteristics of both garden art and court art. During the prosperous period, brick factories, timber factories and shipyards in the manor came one after another, and Kang Guzhu could meet the needs of life without leaving home.
In the Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1790-1820), the Kang family was already very rich, and dozens of miles in Fiona Fang belonged to the Kang family. With the accumulation of family fortune, the Kang family expanded the original manor and added houses to the top of the mountain, thus forming this castle with medieval style. Kang Million Manor is a castle-like building with masonry structure isolated from the outside world, surrounded by walls halfway up the mountain.
In the late Qing Dynasty 1900, Eight-Nation Alliance invaded Beijing. Empress Dowager Cixi fled Beijing to xi 'an with Guangxu the following year, and then returned to Beijing. When passing through the commonweal Kangdian Town, Kang Hongyou, the shopkeeper of Kangjiada, who is known as the "first merchant in Henan", offered charcoal in the snow and donated two million taels of silver to the Qing government. Empress Dowager Cixi said, "I never thought that there were one million households in this ravine." Widely circulated, was given the title of "Kang Million". "Kang Million" became the general name of the Kang family, the owner of this manor, so the manor became Kang Million Manor.
In the early days of the founding of New China, the government reformed the manor, which made it continue the old appearance of "a clear gallery with a bright courtyard".
In 1950s, Kang Million Manor was confiscated. Among them,13 houses were requisitioned for government agencies, schools and post offices, and the other 2/3 houses were allocated to local poor farmers. Sixty years later, the 1/3 part taken over by the government is now Wan Kang Manor Scenic Area. Other houses of Konka have long been replaced by cement and tiles.

In addition, the original gardens, orchards and courtyard spaces are maintained and restored according to the historical style.
