The origin of Hubei referred to as Hubei
Hubei is called "Hubei" for short because of Wuchang, the capital city of Wuhan. Until the Qing Dynasty, Wuchang was the administrative center of Hubei Province and the seat of Ezhou. Because Wuchang in Wuhan has been called Ezhou for hundreds of years, the influence of "E" is very great, so the abbreviation of Hubei Province has become "E".

Every province in China has its own abbreviation, while Hubei is abbreviated as Hubei, which makes people wonder why Hubei should be abbreviated as "Hubei". Hubei is known as the land of Jingchu, and Chu is well known. It seems that the abbreviation "Chu" or "Jing" is more convincing.

In fact, there is no reason why Hubei is called Hubei instead of Chu. Compared with Chu, Hubei has a deeper historical and cultural connotation. There is a very small city in Hubei Province-Ezhou. Ezhou is small, but it is not a general glory in history. Ezhou once had Hubei in the Western Zhou Dynasty. In Zhou Yiwang, Chu sent troops to destroy Hubei and named his son the king of Hubei. Later, Xiong died of illness, and Xiong Hong, king of Hubei Province, acceded to the throne, still taking Hubei as its capital.

Until 22 1 year BC, that is, in the 26th year of Qin Shihuang, the Qin Dynasty destroyed Chu and Hubei, and Qin Shihuang carried out the county system throughout the country, turning the original Hubei into Hubei, and later Hubei became synonymous with Hubei, which has been passed down to this day.
