Ebony tree species
Blackwood is actually carbonized wood, mainly because in ancient times, trees in virgin forests suffered sudden geological disasters, such as flash floods and mudslides in rivers, which washed trees into rivers and buried them in the sediment of river beds; Or earthquakes and landslides cause trees to be buried in dark strata with lack of oxygen. After thousands or even tens of thousands of years of abrasion and creation by nature, a plant "mummy" similar to stone and wood has been formed. Shaded wood has both the elegance of wood and the charm of stone. Its texture is solid and thick, its color is black and shiny, its section is smooth and delicate, and it is resistant to corrosion and moth. So Sichuan people call it ebony, Northeast people call it Langmu and Shenjiangmu, and Westerners call it Oriental Shenmu.

Shade wood is not a tree species, but a general term for many kinds of trees that have been buried underground for a long time without decay. There are many kinds, mainly identified as: cypress, Chinese fir, nanmu, red vertebra, mother tree, oak, Schima superba and plaid wood. Ebony wood is hard, mostly brown-black, black-red, gold and yellow-brown. Its cross section is smooth and the wood grain is fine. If properly polished, some of them can reach mirror brightness. Historically, dark wood was generally used to make coffins or handicrafts, and rarely used to make furniture. Excessive Yin Qi is still a taboo today.

There are already many people in the market who have fried black wood. In fact, valuable dark wood must have three conditions: deep and shiny color, high density, good shape and large body, which is mainly different from ebony: dark wood is a large class of wood, which has been carbonized, and besides black, it also has gold and tan. On February 2, 20 1 1, a giant ebony was found in Group 8 of Tongzigang Village, Hongchuan Town, Meishan City, Sichuan Province. This ebony is13.8m long, with a maximum diameter of1.4m and a minimum diameter of1.3m, and weighs about 23.8 tons. After receiving the call from the city, the county government quickly verified the situation reflected by the masses. A special meeting was held immediately, and it was decided that the county bureau of culture, sports, film and television publishing would take the lead, and the county land and resources bureau, county forestry bureau and other relevant departments would cooperate to organize manpower to carry out protective excavation of this giant ebony.

According to Zhou Xiaolong, the person in charge of the excavation site, the whole excavation began on February 5, 65438. Every day, 1 excavator and 2 1 worker take part in the excavation. After nearly five days of excavation, ebony was finally dug out, and ebony will be transported back to the county by machinery and vehicles.

The reporter saw at the scene that a local farm named Yangliutian had been dug into a pit about14m long and 5m deep. A huge ebony tree with straight skin and black skin lies quietly inside. Seven or eight workers are busy tying a rope to this ebony, ready to drag it out mechanically.

"I have been engaged in ebony excavation for more than 4 years, and I have never seen ebony preserved so well and so huge. This ebony bark is filamentous, yellow in color and has a faint scent of nanmu. Basically, it can be concluded that this is an ebony. " On-site worker Liu Yueming Wang told the reporter, "This ebony is 13.8 meters long, with a maximum diameter of 1.4 meters and a minimum diameter of 1.3 meters, and weighs about 23.8 tons."

The whole excavation process attracted hundreds of onlookers. Everyone whispered and marveled at the huge ebony unearthed. Zhou Yuzhen, a local villager, told reporters: "Since the ebony was dug here, people around have come to the construction site to see the wonders one after another, with no fewer than 500 people every day."

Yu Zaixiang, a 72-year-old man from Tongzigang Village, Hongchuan Town, said: "Although we are located in the hilly area, we have lived for such a long time and have never seen such a big tree in this area, let alone such a big ebony!" It is understood that this ebony is probably the largest Millennium ebony found in Sichuan Province. From 2012 10129 to129,10/2, nine fishermen in Sujiawan Town, Zizhong County, Neijiang City, Sichuan Province fished out the black block 18 at the bottom of the wharf. After professional identification, these ebony trees were initially identified as dark wood (ebony) with a history of more than 2,000 years. There are 18 pieces, of which the largest piece is about12m in length and over1.2m in diameter.

The government's attitude is very clear. Ebony is state-owned, and fishermen are not qualified to dispose of ebony without authorization. Therefore, the government immediately protected the ebony. Next, we will explore and protect the ebony reserve near ebony dang in Sujiawan town. In the process of ebony being hoisted, nine fishermen were emotional and even prevented ebony from being hoisted twice.

In this regard, Xie, one of the fishermen involved in salvaging ebony, said: "Our current thinking is that if the salvaged wood is a' cultural relic', then we are willing to donate it to the government. However, in the salvage process, the per capita investment was about 6.5438+0 million yuan, and the total cost was more than 90,000 yuan. Including renting two big boats, three small boats and hiring divers. Now the government wants to hang these logs away, but there is no compensation. We cannot accept it. " "Thousands of years of carbonization are gloomy, and long-term underwater drowning is a good material and a good tree, and it has been spiritual for many years." This is the description of ebony in ancient books.

On March 26th, 20 14, in Chuqimen, Yuzhong District, Chongqing, 20 brothers Li carried a 5.8-meter-long tree with black charcoal on it. Passers-by exclaimed, "This is a valuable ebony!" 12: 1 1, the reporter rushed to the scene and found that this ebony is the red toon tree reported by this newspaper before, which is also the spring bud tree that Chongqing citizens used to call.

On March 14, the citizens found this ebony by the Yangtze River in Nanjimen. After 7 days' observation by the staff of Yuzhong District Cultural Management Office, they finally found that the water level dropped a lot yesterday, so they dragged the ebony out of the water with a trailer and organized several Li Ge to carry the tree ashore. According to the trailer driver's estimate, this ebony weighs about 3 tons.

The sun is very hot at noon. Li, the 20 th brother, carried ebony weighing about 3 tons, and his forehead oozed fine sweat, and his face turned red. After ebony was picked up, Nanjimen Yangtze River was the starting point and the end point was the Cultural Management Office of Jiefang East Road in Yuzhong District. Although the journey is not very long, Brother Li took several breaks along the way. According to the reporter's understanding, it was past 1 pm yesterday morning after moving ebony, until Brother Li carried ebony into the cultural management office.

While drinking in Li Ge, the reporter chatted with one of them, Li Ge, who was wearing red glasses. Mr. Li, surnamed Zhang, said that this was the first time he had lifted ebony, which was very strange. Before, all the people who lifted similar weights were big machines in the factory. Say that finish, he raised his head, raised the mineral water to drink, and half a bottle of mineral water disappeared in the blink of an eye.

In order not to damage ebony, Li Ge chose a road wider than the sidewalk. Citizens who met this scene on the roadside took out their mobile phones to take pictures. The citizens who took photos said with a smile that it is rare to see the rare ebony with their own eyes, but they should take photos to commemorate it. Du Chuanming, a bystander, said that he had worked as a gold digger before and had seen ebony by the river. In April 1 1, 2065438, a villager in Chuantan Village, Chuantan Township, Wuning County, Jiangxi Province discovered ebony more than 4,000 years ago, which was reprinted by major websites in China and attracted great attention from all walks of life.

2065 438+04 04 14 According to Han Zhong, chairman of the People's Congress of Chuantan Town, Wuning County, the diameter of ebony in Chuantan River is about 1 m, and its length is about15 m. After the news of the discovery of ebony spread throughout the county, the cultural relics leaders of Wuning County and Chuantan Town rushed to the scene to understand the situation. The upper layer of ebony has been covered with a layer of sand and stone with a thickness of about 1 m. The sand and gravel exposed to the water is about15m long and about1.3m wide.

In order to protect ebony from being "hurt" by the river, the government dug a new river channel with a length of more than 40 meters next to the riverbed where ebony was found, guiding the river to flow to the new river channel, and the water flow on the riverbed where ebony was buried was very small.

According to the villagers at the scene, the county government is going to collect this ebony in Wuning County Exhibition Hall, but the amount of economic reward for the discoverer has not yet been determined.

According to villagers, ebony on Chuantan River was seen some years ago, and many fishermen in the village also found it, but they didn't take it seriously and didn't associate it with the priceless ebony. Because it is normal to have a piece of wood in the river bed in rural areas, no one thought that the wood at the bottom of the river was a "big treasure".

It is understood that the news that there is "sky-high ebony" on the riverbed of the boat beach has spread like wildfire in the local area. Every day, hundreds of villagers rushed to the scene to watch the excitement. In the face of this "sky-high baby", a few days ago, many children or old people onlookers tore the bark into pieces and held it in their arms. Local police and government workers stayed at the ebony scene day and night. At the same time, the government specially provided a van for the police to rest and light at night.

On April 14 and 16, the government of Wuning County, Jiangxi Province organized professionals and machinery to excavate the "Millennium ebony" in Chuantan Village, Chuantan Township, so that the Millennium ancient wood was rediscovered. At the excavation site, thousands of nearby villagers rushed to the scene to watch and want to see the "true face" of the Millennium ebony. After several hours of excavation, four sections of ebony were excavated. The longest section of ebony is 10 m long and about 60 cm in diameter, and the three sections of short ebony are about 2 to 4 m long and 20 to 60 cm in diameter. 20 14 On April 27th, Forestry Bureau of Fuliang County, Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province received a report from Jiaotan Forestry Workstation and found an ebony tree in the Yangtze River. On the 28th, the county forestry bureau organized personnel to arrive at the scene for investigation. After understanding the site situation, ebony was found in the middle of the river, the head of Shenghu Village, Jiansheng Village, Jiaotan Town. It was discovered by chance when villagers such as Jin Lutian were fishing and casting nets in the Yangtze River. After discussion, everyone gave it to an artificial person, salvaged ebony from the water and put it on the beach by the salvage river. This is the first rare ebony found in Fuliang County. Ebony tree is hollow, with a diameter of about 1. 1m, a bust of 3.2m and a tree length of13.1m. Later, the relevant departments of Fuliang County transported this batch of ebony to Guxian Scenic Area of Fuliang County for protection.

Experts from the Institute of Wildlife of Jiangxi Academy of Forestry visited, inspected, sampled and photographed ebony on the spot, and identified it as a cone-shaped fruit tree of FAGACEAE, which has a history of more than 3,000 years. On June 28th, Mr. Lin, a citizen of Huizhou, Guangdong Province, fished out 44 pieces of wood suspected of ebony from Dongjiang, but as soon as the wood was fished out from the bottom of the river, Mr. Lin was reported as "selling ancient wood". According to the alarm clues, the police temporarily detained the wood that Mr. Lin fished out.

Mr. Lin is from Huidong County, Huizhou City. He usually likes to knock on wood. At the end of last year, he heard that when fishermen were fishing in Luzhou section of Huicheng of Dongjiang River, their nets were always cut, which aroused Mr. Lin's curiosity.

After investigation, Mr. Lin and others think that there may be ebony at the bottom of the river. So, Mr. Lin and others jointly invested in fishing boats and cranes, and began to salvage suspected ebony wood from the bottom of the river at the beginning of this year. Mr. Lin and others have fished out 44 pieces of wood suspected of ebony from the bottom of the river, but Mr. Lin was reported as soon as the wood was fished out.

Huicheng district police immediately intervened in the investigation. Due to the need of handling a case, the police temporarily detained 44 boards that Mr. Lin salvaged.
