Book flap

Anne Frank's Diary of a Young Girl is one of the most enduring documents in the 20th century. Since the publication of 1947, it has been read by tens of millions of people all over the world. It is still a deeply loved and admired proof of the indestructible nature of the human spirit.

In this final version, the diary entries that were omitted from the original version are restored. These paragraphs, which constitute more than 30% of the materials, reinforce the fact that Anne is a teenage girl first, not a symbol of remoteness and perfection. She is anxious about her emerging sexual ability and tries to deal with it. Like many young girls, she often finds herself at odds with her mother. Like any teenager, she hovers between the carefree nature of children and the mature sadness of adults. Anne is more humane, fragile and energetic than ever before.

To escape the horrors of Nazi occupation, Anne Frank and her family hid in a warehouse in Amsterdam for two years. When she 13 years old, the family entered a secret annex. In these pages, she grew up to be a young woman and a wise observer of human nature. With unusual insight, she reveals the relationship between eight people living in special conditions. They are faced with hunger, the ever-present threat of discovery and death, completely isolated from the outside world, and most importantly, under such unbearable pressure, living in such a limited residence is boring, with minor misunderstandings and setbacks.

Diary of a Young Girl is a timely story rediscovered by every generation, which is unique. For young readers and adults, it continues to bring life to this young woman, who once survived the most terrible horror that the modern world has ever seen, and successfully and heartbreakingly maintained her humanity throughout the suffering. For those who know and love Anne Frank, the final edition is an opportunity to rediscover her. For readers who haven't met her yet, this is a cherished version.

Anne Frank was born on June 12 1929. She died in Bergen-Barzen prison, three months before her16th birthday. Otto h frank was the only member of his immediate family who survived the holocaust. He died in 19 80. Mirjan Praessler is a popular writer of books for teenagers. She lives in Germany.

order

Anne Frank kept a diary from June 12 and 1942 to August 1 and 1944. At first, she wrote it strictly for herself. Then, one day in 1944, Gerrit Bolkestein, a member of the Dutch government in exile, announced in a radio broadcast in London that he hoped to collect eyewitness accounts of the sufferings of the Dutch people under German occupation after the war, which could be provided to the public. As examples, he specifically mentioned letters and diaries.
