Torch Relay Route (Torch Tour in China)
As a traditional activity of Beijing Olympic Games, the torch relay is a symbol that people all over the world love sports and peace. On August 8, 2008, the 29th Summer Olympic Games was held in Beijing, and the torch relay was the highlight of the whole Olympic Games. The relay across China, passing through 3/kloc-0 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government, as well as Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions, has become an unforgettable journey.

First stop: Olympic Park.

On March 24th, 2008, the launching ceremony of the torch relay was held at the Bird's Nest Stadium in Beijing Olympic Park. On that day, torchbearers and Olympic volunteers from all over the country gathered together to witness this historic moment. The first torchbearer is China's former Olympic champion and world record holder Sue.

Second stop: Tiananmen Square

After leaving the Olympic Park, the torch relay team went to Tiananmen Square along Chang 'an Avenue. Here, the torchbearer received the torch under the five-star red flag raised in Ran Ran, showing the world the elegance of China. The second torchbearer is Gong Li, a famous actor in China.

The Great Wall is one of the landmark buildings in China and a world cultural heritage. The torch relay team held a ceremony on the Great Wall. The fourth torchbearer is Yao Ming, a famous basketball player in China.

Fifth stop: Xi 'an City Wall

Xi City Wall is one of the ancient city walls in China and a world cultural heritage. The torch relay team held a ceremony on the city wall. The fifth torchbearer was Chris Lee, a famous singer in China.

Sixth stop: Qinghai Lake

Qinghai Lake is the largest inland lake in China and a world natural heritage. The torch relay team held a ceremony by the lake, and the sixth torchbearer was Li Jian, a famous singer in China.

Seventh stop: Mount Everest

Mount Qomolangma is the highest mountain in the world and the national treasure of China. The torch relay team held a ceremony at the foot of Mount Everest. The seventh torchbearer is Xu, a famous mountaineer in China.

Eighth stop: Hong Kong

Hongkong is a special administrative region of China and an international financial, trade and shipping center. The torch relay team held a ceremony in Hongkong, and the eighth torchbearer was China famous actor Andy Lau.

Ninth stop: Macau

Macau is a special administrative region of China and an international center for tourism, entertainment and gambling. The torch relay team held a ceremony in Macau, and the ninth torchbearer was China's famous singer Joey Yung.

Tenth stop: Beijing Olympic Park

On August 8th, 2008, the torch relay team returned to Beijing Olympic Park and completed the torch tour across China. In the evening, a grand opening ceremony was held in Beijing Olympic Stadium, and the eyes of the whole world were focused on this vibrant and hopeful city.
