1946, graduated from biology department of Fu Jen Catholic University with a bachelor's degree.

1948, graduated from biology department of yenching university with a master's degree.

1949 and 1952 have successively obtained the master of science degree from the University of Chicago, and the double doctorates in plant pathology and philosophy. He used to be an assistant researcher at the University of Chicago.

1953 returned to China. He has served as an associate professor and professor in the Department of Biology of Nankai University. Chinese society for microbiology, the fourth and fifth executive director, chairman of fungal professional Committee, vice chairman of Tianjin Microbiology Society; The 5th Executive Committee of All-China Women's Federation, the 7th and 8th Central Committee members of Jiu San Society, and the 8th Standing Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

1980- 198 1 year, visiting scholar at University of Texas, University of Leeds and Wharton University. As an expert sent by the State Education Commission, he went to the United States to attend the international fermentation engineering conference and the international mycology conference held in Japan.

He died in the United States on May 1 2002 at the age of 79.

On September 2 1 2003, their ashes were buried together in Beijing Wan 'an Cemetery.
