People's governments at all levels should attach importance to and strengthen the protection of women's rights and interests.

To this end, this law has formulated various safeguards-incorporating the basic national policy of equality between men and women into the national education system; Establish and improve the statistical investigation system of women's development and improve the monitoring index system of gender statistics; It is clear that the State Council has formulated and organized the implementation of the China Women's Development Program and incorporated it into the national economic and social development plan.

Guo Linmao, director of the Social Law Office of the Law Commission of the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC), said that the newly revised Law on the Protection of Women's Rights and Interests fully implemented the basic national policy of equality between men and women. It not only clearly stipulates in the general provisions that the state should take necessary measures to promote equality between men and women, but also constantly enriches and improves the specific system provisions on the protection of women's rights and interests in the specific provisions, ensuring that women enjoy equal rights with men in political, economic, cultural, social and family life, and ensuring that women participate in social life on an equal footing, have equal access to development opportunities and enjoy the fruits of development on an equal footing.

Jiang Yue, a professor at Xiamen University Law School, said that these regulations include two objectives and tasks: to publicize the concept of gender equality and eliminate actual gender discrimination, especially to clarify the basic criteria for judging gender discrimination, which will enhance the operability of the law.
