Zhou Mingzhen, an academician of China Academy of Sciences and a paleontologist, initiated the research on dinosaur eggs in China. He first studied three dinosaur eggs and some broken egg fragments discovered by Wang Linxiang and Guan Guangyue in Laiyang in 1950. Zhou Mingzhen has published Late Cretaceous dinosaur fossils and egg fossils in Laiyang, Shandong (195 1) and fine structure of eggshells in Laiyang, Shandong (1954). Yang published "Egg Fossils from Laiyang, Shandong Province" on 1954, which can be classified into two types: ooidite and ooidite.
The history of the first discovery of dinosaur eggs in Henan has long been ambiguous and controversial. In fact, the date1August, 974 19 is a day worthy of being remembered by Henan people. It was the day when dinosaur eggs were first discovered in Henan, not1June, 974. At the same time, many people still believe that dinosaur eggs in Henan Province were discovered in 1993, which delayed the history of this important scientific discovery for nearly 20 years. This is a big misunderstanding. At the same time, it also caused many news media to make false reports on the time, place and discoverer of dinosaur eggs. However, 1993 is also a year that people should remember. Dinosaur eggs in Xixia basin and other places were illegally sold, which was an unforgettable year. Some cadres and scientific and technological personnel were also involved in that distressing storm, which cast a shadow over sacred scientific research. This is a painful lesson that should be learned.
There are many kinds of dinosaur eggs. Dinosaur eggs in Nanyang, Henan Province are the most concentrated, with the largest number and species (Figure 4. 1 10, Figure 4.112; Table 4.5). The study of oozing biostratigraphy in Nanxiong basin, Guangdong Province is in-depth and fruitful.
The plates in Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 are all quoted from China Henan Dinosaur Eggs and Dinosaur Fossils by Wang Deyou et al. (2008).

1one afternoon in August, 1974, Li saw several smooth small round pits with a diameter of about 12 ~ 13 cm in a relatively open gully at the root of Boluo Mountain in Majiagou Village, Taohe Township, Xichuan County, much like the impression left by dinosaur eggs. After careful search, a dinosaur egg dander and a complete dinosaur egg were found at a distance of 5 ~ 6m from the pit. Li immediately picked out six or seven pieces of dinosaur egg skins and returned to the station to report the good news to Han Shijing and Shi Shenggui. When Han Shijing further confirmed that it was a dinosaur egg skin, the three could not sleep all night. 1On August 20th, 974, led by Li, the three men went to the place where the dinosaur egg skin was first discovered, and made a detailed investigation and collection. A nest of 15 dinosaur eggs was collected at the fossil discovery site, which was temporarily called "thin-skinned round egg" (Zhao identified it as "Taohe round egg" in that year). On August 26th 1974, Han Shijing escorted dinosaur eggs to Nanyang team site. Since then, the fossil investigation team has been transferred to Xixia Basin for investigation. In a short time, more kinds of dinosaur eggs were found in Danshui, Yangcheng, Qiyu, Qimei Niangniang Temple and Fujiazhuang in Xixia Basin. In the process of discovering dinosaur eggs for the first time in Henan, the fossil expedition team composed of Han Shijing, Li, Shi Shenggui and Yang contributed greatly. There is no doubt that Li was the first discoverer.
