1937 1 was born in Indonesia. At the end of the same year, I returned to my hometown in Biyang County, Hubei Province (now Xiantao City) with my parents. He spent his childhood in his hometown and received a good middle school education in Tianmen and Wuhan.

1955 was admitted to the Mathematics Department of Hunan Normal University (now Hunan Normal University). 1959 after graduation, he stayed in school as a teaching assistant and taught college mathematics courses in normal universities for a long time.

1979 till now, lecturer, associate professor and professor of mathematics. After studying pedagogy, he served as a professor of pedagogy and doctoral supervisor.

198 1, deputy director and head of the department of mathematics of Hunan Normal University. 1982 used to be the vice president of Hunan Normal University, presiding over the school administration.

1983 secretary of the Party Committee of Hunan Normal University. 1986-2000 President of Hunan Normal University.

During the 18 years when President Zhang Chuting was in charge of the school affairs of Hunan Normal University, Hunan Normal University was turned into a national "2 1 1" project key university.

In the meantime, he served as a member of Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China 10, and vice chairman of Hunan Science and Technology Association 10. He is also a member of the Standing Committee of CPPCC and the president of Hunan University of International Economics.
