The State Key Laboratory of Oncology started its application in June 2004, passed the evaluation, investigation and demonstration of the Ministry of Science and Technology on April 1 2005, and passed the acceptance of the Ministry of Science and Technology on May 30, 2006 after a year of construction, becoming the first State Key Laboratory in the same batch of projects. The State Key Laboratory of Tumor Biology was established on the basis of Institute of Gastroenterology, Key Laboratory of Medicine, Key Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Xi 'an Cell Engineering Center of the National 863 Program and Cancer Institute of the Fourth Military Medical University. In April 2005, the laboratory passed the construction planning demonstration of the Ministry of Science and Technology and entered the project construction period. At the beginning of 2006, the laboratory passed the evaluation of the National Key Laboratory of Medicine during the construction period, and passed the acceptance of the Ministry of Science and Technology in May 2006, becoming the first national key laboratory in the same batch of project construction laboratories. Professor Cheng Shujun, Academician of China Academy of Engineering, Professor China Academy of Engineering and Professor Fan, Academician of China Academy of Engineering, are currently the directors of the Academic Committee.
