A serious disaster

Wang Zhongguang, Guizhou, July 15 News (Reporter Wang Guishan, Zou Rongran, correspondent Ran Juan) On the evening of July 9, Dalu Village, Yuxi Town, Daozhen County, Guizhou Province suffered a once-in-50-year heavy rainfall. The soaring flash floods caused landslides, resulting in the collapse of 32 farmhouses in 17 households and 348 dangerous houses in 224 households. Crops were flooded in a large area, weirs and drinking water pipes were seriously damaged, power and communication were interrupted, and village roads were completely paralyzed. Taoziping, the road that runs through the town, collapsed 80 meters, and disaster relief personnel and materials were investigated.

The red ribbon team volunteered for the war.

On the morning of July 1 1, when the two committees of Dalu village branch were worried about the disaster relief work, Zou Dexing, party member, who lives near Dalu village street, and a young man tied a red ribbon and rode a motorcycle to the village Committee. The young man, who is also party member, asked anxiously, "Secretary Jiang, the disaster is serious. What can we do? " Jiang Jianjun, secretary of the Party branch of Dalu Village, was not only happy, but also surprised. He didn't expect that when the disaster happened, when everyone was busy saving themselves, someone stood up and took the initiative to serve everyone. Secretary Jiang Jianjun said excitedly, "Just right! Perfect! Now the main road of Taoziping is interrupted, and higher-level disaster relief personnel, materials and passers-by cannot pass. " Before Secretary Jiang finished, Zou Dexing quickly said: Nothing, just leave these things to us. So, he immediately returned to the village and called the villagers to set up a disaster relief service team. This team consists of 18 people, including 3 motorcycles18 and 5 cars. Every car is affixed with the words "Dalu Village Disaster Relief Volunteer Service Team" written on red paper. They tied a red ribbon on the car and braved the heavy rain to drive to the road blocked by flash floods.

Emergency excavation of temporary service road

When the disaster relief volunteer service team arrived at the collapse of Taoziping Highway, they saw many people waiting anxiously across the street. Zou Dexing knows that the only way to let pedestrians pass safely is to dig a temporary sidewalk, which only passes through the steep slope above the collapsed road. After a brief discussion, the team members took immediate action. They borrowed farm tools from farmers around them and dug sidewalks from steep slopes. Regardless of personal safety, the team members waved simple tools, and their actions touched people around them. Many villagers also joined the team. After 1 many hours of fighting, the 300-meter-long pedestrian walkway was finally completed.

Escort pedestrians through the danger zone

In the past, it was difficult for the elderly, women and children to pass because of the steep slope of the newly-built access road and narrow roads. In order to protect their safe passage, members of the volunteer service team took the initiative to shoulder the heavy responsibility of escort. They carry old people and children and help women to cross the sidewalk. Villagers passing by blocked by landslides on both sides were very grateful to the team members when they walked on this sidewalk. They said: At the critical moment, party member is still wonderful! Or the young people in the village!

Shoulder 5 tons of relief supplies

After the disaster, 5 tons of rice, clothes and other relief materials shipped by the county civil affairs bureau and Yuxi town government were blocked at the other end of the road and had to be transported by manpower. In order to deliver the relief materials to the affected farmers in time, the members of the volunteer service team United as one, regardless of their own safety, holding the steep slope with both hands, and simply carrying 5 tons of materials across the sidewalk bag by bag. They are too lazy to wipe their sweat and rest, and they don't even want to delay smoking. Then they put the relief materials in the car and sent them directly to the temporary resettlement site of the victims-the resident of Dalu Village Committee. In order to make the relief materials delivered to the victims as soon as possible, they have the obligation to obey the instructions of the village committee and deliver the relief materials delivered to households to farmers' homes according to the requirements of highways. After the disaster occurred, 4.2 tons of materials were delivered and distributed in two days.
