Li Longji (September 8, 685-May 3, 762), the grandson of Tang Gaozong and Wu Zetian, the third son of Li Dan in Tang Ruizong, also known as Li Sanlang and his mother Dou Defai. From the first year of congenital (7 12) to the fifteenth year of Tianbao (756), he abdicated as the emperor's father because of the Anshi rebellion. He was the longest-serving emperor in the Tang Dynasty and also the emperor in its heyday.
In the early days of Li Longji's rule, the country was governed vigorously, the social economy continued to develop, and the feudal society was unprecedentedly prosperous. However, in the later period of his reign, he indulged in debauchery, extravagance, reuse of treacherous court officials and political corruption, which eventually led to the decline of the Tang Dynasty. So, Li Longji is an outstanding historical figure:
In the early days of Li Longji's administration, he attached great importance to the selection of local officials, and personally assessed county magistrate to repel incompetent people. Yao Chong and Song Jing were appointed as prime ministers. They are talented, responsible and dare to give advice. As a result, the society was stable, the production developed and the economy prospered, and the Tang Dynasty entered its heyday, which was called "Kaiyuan Shi Sheng" in history.
An introduction to the escape experience of Xuanzong in the Anshi Rebellion;
In the fifteenth year of Tianbao (756), the rebel army occupied Luoyang, the eastern capital, and defended the Tang general Ge, the last line of defense in Tongguan, the capital, with nearly 200,000 troops, but it was temporarily assembled and lacked combat effectiveness. But Tang Xuanzong and Yang didn't trust Ge Shuhan and sent eunuchs to force him to send troops. As a result, Geshuhan was defeated by Anshi rebels in Lingbao and was completely annihilated. Gershuhan also became a prisoner.
In June of the same year, the insurgents invaded and occupied Chang 'an, Tang Dou. Enter the peak of Anshi Rebellion. Before the fall of Chang 'an, Li Longji fled. To Maweipo (Xingping West, Shaanxi Province), the accompanying soldiers mutinied, killed Yang and forced Yang Guifei to hang. Tang Xuanzong finally fled to Chengdu. Prince Hengli fled to the north, in Lingwu, which is Tang Suzong.
Su Zong recruited more than 10,000 soldiers from Hexi and Anxi, and transferred them back to Guo Ziyi, the northern border of Hebei, and Li Guangbi, the border of Hebei, with an army of 50,000. Lingwu was once powerful. Then, officials and generals were appointed, a new military system was established, and the rebels were fully deployed. At the request of Su Zong, Uighur also sent elite cavalry to help.
