Liu is stationed in Xiangyang, namely Xiangfan, Hubei. Huang Zhong was appointed as a corps commander by Liu Biao. Huang Zhong followed Liu Biao's nephew Liu Pan. Liu Pan is based in Youxian County, Changsha, namely Youxian County, Hunan.
In the fourth year of Jian 'an, Liu Pan and Sun Ce fought in Ai, namely Xiushui, Jiangxi, followed by Huang Zhong.
In the thirteenth year of Jian 'an, Cao Cao sent his troops south, and Liu Biao died of illness. After Cao Cao arrived in Jingzhou, Huang Zhong acted as the general and was still an official in Changsha County, belonging to Changsha Taishou Han.
In the 14th year of Jian 'an, Liu Bei formed an alliance with Sun Quan, defeated Cao Cao Jun, and Cao Cao returned to the north. Liu Bei took the opportunity to occupy Jingzhou and led Zhao Yun and others to invade Changsha, Hunan. Changsha satrap Han Xuan surrendered to Liu Bei. Huang Zhong surrendered after Han Xuan.
How did Huang Zhong die?
According to the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, "I will die next year, and I will chase you."
Among them, the death next year refers to the twenty-five years of Jian 'an in the Eastern Han Dynasty, that is, in 220 AD, Huang Zhong died of illness, and he happened to be hunted by Hou Shi.
In the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, in 222 AD, Huang Zhong followed Liu Bei to conquer Sun Wu. Because veteran Liu Beiyan is useless, Huang Zhong refuses to accept his old age. In the battle with General Wu, he was ambushed by Ma Zhong and hit in the shoulder socket by a flowing arrow. He died of old age and blood failure at the age of 75. Huang Zhong had a son named Huang Xu who died at an early age, so Huang Zhong had no future.
