Director: Guan
Starring: Anita Mui, Leslie Cheung, Wan Ziliang and Zhu Baoyi.
Based on Li Bihua's original novel, the romantic ghost story is set in Tangxi Yueyue District in 1930s and the modern city 50 years later. By comparing two love stories separated by half a century, people sigh "what is the situation in the world?" Anita Mui, the famous prostitute Huahua who plays Shitangzui, has a true love with the rich boy Shi, but it is not accepted by the man's family. They agreed to swallow opium to die, only to find that Huahua's ghost didn't die until 50 years later and became a redundant person in his later years. Wan Ziliang, who works in a newspaper, and his girlfriend Zhu Baoyi helped him find a man like a flower, and reflected on their own love relationship. Guan's technique of directing this film is extremely delicate and touching. Tang's part shows the decadent beauty of Hong Kong films, and the atmosphere is filled with a strong lingering bitterness. Anita Mui and Rong Shao's wonderful performances also complement each other. Real men are the stars tonight. I heard it's not a ghost film, but it has something to do with ghosts.
I don't know anything else. ......
