Project Planning of Yanjing School in Peking University
20 14 On May 5th, "International Forum on Innovative Talents Training and Launching Ceremony of Peking University (Yanjing Society)" was held in Yingjie Exchange Center, Peking University. In the afternoon, Party Secretary Zhu and President Wang Enge of Peking University jointly unveiled the Yanjing School and officially started the Yanjing School Project. According to the press release of Peking University News Center, Yanjing Society is positioned as "an open high-end academic research and talent training project with an international perspective", and it is a one-year master's degree program of "China Studies" for top university students at home and abroad, which is rooted in Peking University's profound history and culture and takes advantage of its comprehensive humanities and social sciences. The school takes "international leadership training based on China's subjectivity" as the training principle, and has a curriculum system in six directions: philosophy and religion, history and archaeology, literature and culture, economy and management, law and society, public policy and international relations. This course is mainly taught in English.

According to the press release of Peking University News Center, the first batch of students of Yanjing Academy is expected to enter the school in the autumn of 20 15. "World-class universities will recruit outstanding undergraduate graduates with high moral quality and outstanding academic performance", with a total of 100 students, 65 from outside China (including Hongkong, Macau and Taiwan Province Province) and 35 from China. Peking University offers full scholarships to all 65,438+000 students. Enrollment is mainly conducted in the form of "application-review", and remote online interviews can be conducted when necessary. In the future, Peking University plans to recruit students for Yanjing School by combining the recommendation of first-class cooperative universities at home and abroad with open enrollment.

Yanjing School adopts the residential college system, and will use the No.6 Courtyard of Jingyuan of Peking University as the housing for students' accommodation and teachers' office, and excavate the south lawn of Jingyuan to build classrooms. Located in the south of Weiming Lake, Jingyuan is divided into six independent three-way courtyards, all of which are zigzag. The six courtyards are located at both ends of Jingyuan lawn, facing each other. Jingyuan lawn is the largest lawn in Peking University. Jingyuan No.1, No.2, No.4 and No.5 Hospital was built in 1926, and was originally a dormitory for girls in yenching university. The Third Hospital and the Sixth Hospital added the same drawings in 1952. The six three-in-one colleges in Jingyuan have long been the offices of many liberal arts departments (Chinese Department, History Department, Philosophy Department, etc.). ) At Peking University. In 20 13, the newly-built Lee Shau Kee College of Humanities, located on the east side of Weiming Lake, was completed, and the liberal arts departments moved in, leaving six courtyards idle. According to Wen Rumin's memory, Jingyuan lawn was originally an orchard. When building a new library, Peking University Library occupied a large lawn of Peking University. Students protested, so the school turned the orchard into a lawn for students' activities.

Yanjing School will set up a "lecture professor" to recruit teachers from all over the world. There are 70 teachers in Yanjing School, 30 of whom are in-service teachers of Peking University, and 20 are recruited globally, and "20 top international visiting professors are invited". The teachers employed by Yanjing School for a long time will adopt the "double employment system", that is, teaching students from Yanjing School and other departments at Peking University at the same time. Teachers' salaries are in line with international standards, and compared with Harvard University, the budget attracts teachers.

Yanjing Society also plans to set up 10 Institute.
