Li applied manned spaceflight technology to the field of medical devices, opened up the research direction of neuromodulation, and successfully developed the first implantable deep brain stimulator in China, making China the second country in the world to design, manufacture and apply brain pacemakers in clinical practice after the United States.
Invented carbon nano-implanted electrodes, brain pacemaker software replantation and other technologies, and established the independent intellectual property system of nerve regulation technology related to brain pacemaker.
Focusing on the major engineering needs of manned spaceflight, Li conducted research on methods, technologies and systems of astronaut selection, training, medical supervision and medical insurance, and invented a flexible loading method to simulate the launching of overweight loads, which was successfully applied to astronaut training and the second batch of astronauts selection, and contributed to the success of three manned spaceflights.
The developed neuromuscular stimulator, astronaut mass measuring instrument, physiological signal testing box and astronaut ECG reading device have been equipped with Tiangong-1 to serve astronauts in the "Shenzhou-9" mission. The astronaut mass measuring instrument is applied to the teaching of 20 13 Shenzhou-10.
