Shengli Oilfield now refers to Shengli Petroleum Administration Bureau and Shengli Oilfield Branch. The work area is mainly distributed in 28 counties (districts) of 8 cities including Dongying, Binzhou, Dezhou, Jinan, Weifang, Zibo, Liaocheng and Yantai, and the main part is located in Dongying City in the lower reaches of the Yellow River. According to the division of geological structure, the oil and gas exploration area in Shandong Province belongs to Bohai Bay Basin, which mainly includes five depressions, namely Jiyang, Changwei, Jiaolai, Linqing and Southwest Shandong, with a total area of 65,300 square kilometers. The oilfield has obtained the exploration right of 48,900 square kilometers, in which Jiyang Depression and shallow sea area are the main battlefields for exploration and development of Shengli Oilfield. Up to now, the exploration area of Shengli Oilfield has reached184,800 square kilometers.
