Chen Zhongyuan, born in 1953, is a tenured professor and doctoral supervisor in our school and enjoys special state allowance. He won the Science and Technology Progress Award of the State Education Commission twice and the second prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award in 2003. He has presided over and won more than 10 projects supported by international cooperation projects and national natural science foundation, and published more than 100 papers in core journals at home and abroad. 1995 won the cross-century talent fund of the State Education Commission, 1996 was selected as the outstanding academic leader in Shanghai, and 1997 was selected as the national 100 million talents plan. At present, he is the editorial board member of International Journal of Geomorphology, the editorial consultant of International ESPL Magazine, the member of International EMECS-Closed Bay Environmental Management and Decision-making Committee, the deputy director of the Great River Basin Working Group of International Geomorphology Society, the deputy director of the Environmental Archaeology Group of International Geomorphology Society, the editorial board members of China Sedimentary Journal, Journal of Geographical Sciences, Journal of Quaternary Research, the director of China Quaternary Committee and the director of Shanghai Geological Society.
