As far as academic achievements are concerned, Yang Zhenning is almost the greatest theoretical physicist in the world. Some people even say that his own achievements can be compared with scientists like Einstein, Newton and Maxwell. Most people only know that he won the Nobel Prize once, but according to the statistics of professionals, his own achievements have at least thirteen "Nobel Prize levels".

Such an achievement, not to mention returning to China for retirement, is a trip to China, and China should cherish it.

Judging from his contribution to China, Yang Zhenning has also made great efforts.

Since the thaw of Sino-US relations in the last century, Yang Zhenning has raised a lot of funds to help domestic scholars go abroad for further study, the most important of which is the CEEC project, that is, the China scholars' visit project. He helped thousands of medieval scholars to study abroad in terms of funds and contacts.

Almost all these overseas scholars have become leaders and leading figures in various fields in China, such as President Peking University, President Yang of Fudan University, President Gu Chaohao of University of Science and Technology of China and so on.

In addition to helping China scholars, Yang Zhenning himself has also provided great academic help to China's theoretical physics, including setting up the Tsinghua University Advanced Research Center to attract and fund overseas experts to work in China. Some students in Tsinghua once said:

The teaching mode of science course in Tsinghua Physics Base, the resume of IAS in Tsinghua, and the accumulation of physics research in China are all related to Lao Yang to a great extent. Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences also said: Teacher Yang has played a key role in changing the face of Tsinghua Physics Department.

In addition, Yang Zhenning is still personally guiding undergraduates. Only at this point, his academic attitude and academic contribution to China's theoretical physics are immeasurable.

Politically, in the 1970s, Yang Zhenning and the famous historian He Bingdi jointly established the All-China Chinese Association, with He Bingdi as the vice president, to unite overseas Chinese and spread patriotic ideas. Later, he personally attended the hearing of the United States Senate during the fishing protection movement, stated the fact that Diaoyu Island is China, and made many public remarks on fishing protection, which can be said to be a banner in political propaganda.

Yang Zhenning doesn't support the elderly in China now.

The so-called old-age care means getting more than contributing, even eating without working. This is natural for a 96-year-old man. After all, what else can you ask a person of this age to do? But in fact, even at the age of 96, Yang Zhenning is still exerting immeasurable light and heat.

First of all, Yang Zhenning donated his personal savings and a 3-mu villa in Long Island, USA, to the Tsinghua University Foundation for Advanced Research Center, including the annual allowance of RMB/kloc-0.00 million given to Yang Zhenning by the state, most of which was donated by Yang Zhenning to the Advanced Research Center as daily expenses.

Secondly, Yang Zhenning still has rich academic experience. After returning to China, he published 27 SCI articles with Tsinghua University as the author (some people may not know what SCI is, so to speak, one SCI is enough for a doctor's degree). Even his colleagues would say:

I often get emails from Miss Yang in the afternoon11-12. As a scientist who is over eighty years old, Mr. Yang's drive and vitality are really admirable and amazing! So where is this pension? It's all waste heat, okay? Even though his energy and thinking are far less than when he was young, he is one of the greatest theoretical physicists of our time, and tens of thousands of professors in China can afford it. Is he another one? What's more, he hardly spends money himself.
