Present at the opening ceremony were: Mr. Tsung i Jao, honorary citizen of Shantou and master of Chinese studies; Mr. Ma, Vice President of Hong Kong Chaozhou Association and President of Hong Kong Chaozhou Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Chen Weinan, honorary chairman of Shantou CPPCC and founding chairman of Hong Kong Tide Association; Ms. Yu Lin Baozhu, honorary citizen of Shantou and wife of Mr. Lin Baixin; And Mr. Tang Xueyuan, Permanent Honorary President of Chaozhou Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. At the ceremony, Tsung i Jao, Ma, Yu Lin Baozhu, Du, jointly unveiled the Shantou Library, and the main guests attending the ceremony cut the ribbon for the library. Cai Wei, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Acting Mayor, unveiled the memorial hall for Mr. Lin Baixin, the son of Mr. Lin Baixin. In recognition of Mr. Lin Baixin and Ms. Yu Lin Baozhu's contribution to library construction, with the consent of Shantou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, it is decided to award Mr. Lin Baixin and Ms. Yu Lin Baozhu the honorary title of "Permanent Honorary Curator of Zhu Bao Library in Lin Baixin, Shantou". Wang Yun, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Minister of Propaganda Department, presented the honorary certificate to Ms. Yu Lin Baozhu.
On behalf of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, Vice Mayor Chen Rong expressed warm congratulations on the opening of the Zhu Bao Library in Lin Baixin. She pointed out that Mr. Lin Baixin had always cared about the development of his hometown before his death, spared no effort to support various constructions in his hometown, and successively invested huge sums of money in running a doctor, improving water, helping students and promoting literature in Huize, his hometown. His patriotism, love for his hometown, and the lofty virtue of "giving without expecting anything in return" will always be remembered by people in his hometown. The Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government always adhere to Scientific Outlook on Development and attach great importance to cultural construction and cohesion of overseas Chinese. The completion and opening of Shantou Lin Baixin Zhu Bao Library will certainly play a very positive role in improving the cultural taste of Shantou and promoting the construction of spiritual civilization and famous cultural city. It is hoped that the library will live up to expectations, continuously enrich its collection resources, improve its management level and service level, and build a document resource center, an information service center and a social education center in Shantou, so as to make greater contributions to accelerating the economic, social and cultural development of our city and building a harmonious Shantou. Chen Weinan, Yu Lin Baozhu, Vice Chairman and Minister of the United Front Work Department of the Municipal Party Committee Xie also delivered warm speeches at the ceremony.
