What does Lantai mean?
Lantai is located in the center of Zhongying Town, Zhongxiang City. It is a platform rammed by Chu people to resist floods 4000 years ago. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, the palace on Lantai was brilliant for a while, which was called "the palace on Lantai" in history and was the cultural center of the powerful State of Chu. Liu Xie, a member of the Liang Dynasty in the Northern and Southern Dynasties, said in the cultural masterpiece "Wen Xin Diao Long Time Series": "Only Qi and Chu have abundant documents, which are the first of Zhuang Qu, the palace of Chu Guanglan Terrace ... Qu is connected with algae every day, and Song Yu is brilliant." Qu Yuan, a great patriotic poet, and his disciple Song Yu all said that they became talents in this palace in Lantai. There is a Lantian Academy built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. After more than 2,000 years of evolution, the word "Lantai" has now become synonymous with archival custody institutions and archival work, and archivists are also called "Lantai people". China's central archives preservation institutions in past dynasties are as follows: Zhou is Tianfu, Han is Lantai, Dongguan and Shiqu, Tang is the historical museum, Song is the shelf museum, Yuan is the shelf museum, Ming is the imperial history (Cheng), Houhu Huangshu Museum, Cabinet Library, Tang, ancient and modern Tongji Library, and Qing is the cabinet library.
