A Brief Introduction to the Author of A Brief History of Buddhism in China
Fang was born in 1933, Yongkang, Zhejiang. Graduated from philosophy department of Peking University. At present, he is a professor and doctoral supervisor in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies of Renmin University of China, director of the Institute of Buddhism and Religious Studies, vice-president of the Society of Chinese Philosophy History, vice-president of the Society of Chinese Religions, editor-in-chief of China Philosophical Newspaper, and member of the Advisory Committee of Humanities and Social Sciences Research Experts of the Ministry of Education. The main monographs include Buddhist Series in Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, Buddhist Philosophy, Buddhism and Traditional Culture in China, and History of the Development of Ancient Philosophical Problems in China (Volume I and Volume II), and about 200 academic papers have been published. Hua, born in 1965, a native of Jimo, Shandong Province, graduated from the Philosophy Department of Renmin University of China. He is currently an associate researcher at the Institute of World Religions of China Academy of Social Sciences and deputy secretary-general of the Buddhist Research Center of China Academy of Social Sciences. He has written monographs, co-authored many books, such as Ji Zang Review, Modern Oriental Philosophy and 300 Buddhist Themes, and published dozens of academic papers.
