Chongqing University of Arts and Science, located in Chongqing, is a full-time undergraduate college sponsored by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and the first batch of pilot universities in China to reform the education and training plan for outstanding agricultural and forestry talents. Its predecessors, Chongqing Normal University and Yuzhou Institute of Education, were founded in 1976 and 1972 respectively. In May of 20001year, the two universities merged to form Chongqing Yuxi College; In April 2005, the school was renamed Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences.
Chongqing University of Arts and Science has majors in ideological and political education, elementary education, physical education, material science and engineering, sports training, sports rehabilitation, Chinese language and literature, mathematics and applied mathematics, mechanical engineering, electromechanical integration engineering, intelligent manufacturing engineering, artificial intelligence, data science and big data technology, and civil engineering.
Among them, the major of materials science and engineering in Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences was founded by Professor Tu, an academician of China Academy of Engineering. It is a national first-class specialty, with Huang Weijiu, an expert of the National "Ten Thousand Talents Program", a teaching team composed of more than 40 doctors, such as Cai Ying and Xie Qing. Two national platforms, the National International Science and Technology Cooperation Base and the Collaborative Innovation Center jointly established by the Ministry of Education, have been built, and won the first prize of scientific and technological progress in the fields of photoelectric materials in Chongqing.
