With Moriyama Ryoko's "Who Can Ban My Love" (Forbidden Love), it became his first work that can only be performed in the NHK Red and White Song Club.
From the 1970s to the 1980s, Miki only created many musical works. From performing songs with traditional Japanese charm to lively pop songs, it is involved. During this period, his most important work was 1977' s song "The Winter Scenery of Hekou Strait" written for Ishikawa.
After 1980s, Yukio Hatoyama and China singer Teresa Teng created a new music form-"New Adult Music". At the same time, together with Japanese lyricist Araki Toyohisa and singer Teresa Teng, he formed the "Iron Triangle" which was popular in the 1980s, and created works including "つぐなぃ", "Love" and "Time". During 1984- 1986, Teresa Teng won the prize. In 1990s, with the death of Teresa Teng, Miki gradually stopped composing music.
In 2004, Miki just began to serve as the chairman of the Japanese Composers Association; In 2005, he won the Purple Ribbon Medal awarded by the Japanese government for those who have made contributions in the fields of academics, art and sports. In 2006, he suffered from hypopharyngeal cancer and had his vocal cords partially removed. In 2008, I had surgery for the second time, and I have been recuperating since then, and my body has deteriorated again; He died in the hospital of Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture on May, 2009.
